I am acting for the Executrix of Warren
Delabere Barnes, late Colonial Secretary at
Hong Kong, who died on October 28th 1911.
I understand that for many years past,
the deceased subscribed to a Service Pension
Fund, the subscription being deducted from
his salary. I should feel extremely obliged
pecuniary
if you would infron me whether any benefit
will now accrue to the deceased's estate by
reason of such subscriptions.
I may add
that the deceased died a bachelor.
I presume that arrears of salary (if
ang) due to the deceased's estate will be
113
payable at Hong Kong and not direct to my
client in this country.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
-Batter morritt
The Secretary of State for the Colonies, Colonial Office,
Downing Street,
S. W.
